Dezeptionstaktik. Wednesday.
Traditionally,a day associated with a Caiaphas or a Judas or a tramp or thief, you will find the ugly abortion that is the police force in our local jurisdiction playing up on a Wednesday. (There is some opinion,it must be pointed out, which associates Judas's betrayal with a Monday or Tuesday, not Spy Wednesday.)
On this day, those lost souls engage in what the naif poet, Kavanagh, called 'secret signs'. In Fermanagh, their orders are coming from strays in Monaghan Army barracks and coppers in Armagh,Cookstown (Quinn) , Dungannon (Kelly)and Strand Road (Harte) Police Stations.
The lickspittles who they employ in Enniskillen, not to put too fine a point on it,are the local soldiery, security firms, British Army regiments and auxiliary police force, psychopaths, small farmers' sons and nuns, those all being fairy godmothers to some stray or other.
In the South, those idle hands such as the Cavan or Tipperary man who "did not like begging and and thought work was too hard... got a bright notion to join up the Guards ". That is, to use the old time-worn refrain about time on the police or military service in the British Army ( Pete St John,The Tipperary Recruit).
And these deceivers suffer for their art,so we say,
"If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen, assholes."
...
To return to the opening theme of this post, the question of the exact day when Betrayal is crossing a Judas's mind,we must accept the vernacular version that Wednesday is the day when "Judas decided to betray Jesus".
