Who or what is a haelion?
Someone who will not obey any law,rule or regulation . He tries to talk down to a more intelligent person and demeans a better-educated person. He is invariably small in stature and often he has lost a lot of weight which is largely the result of not listening to advice on healthy eating and there is no worse haelion than a member of your own family or social circle..... ..... Someone who does not listen to advice where there is a general mood for a strike of some sort, political or economic. .... In military matters,a foolhardy soul who sets out on a mission without the prior permission of his superiors or the knowledge of his colleagues. (There are exceptions in times of spy mania when it is an entirely secret operation of his own making in an atmosphere of mutual antagonisms and flagrantly contradictory allegations). Or, another sort of haelion,a Corkman or Roscommon man holding forth on his views about politics, culture or wealth.Corkmen are worse than a Cavan man for talking ...
