Trivial pursuits. Surveillance and street-crawling
I witnessed the Gardai activities in Dublin and the South in the period 1988-1992 and perceived the hand of an imperialist superpower and a nervous, anxious native police force in action on the streets of Dublin. Their activities were interspersed with the manoeuvrings of Provo corner-boys, drunken undercover soldiers and British Army kerb-huggers. Public nuisance is not 'security measures' rather instances of intimidation, harassment and "counter-terrorist military deployments". Haughey heard the English siren maiden's call and sent into the fray street urchins and Irish Army MADMEN whom he had Con Aherne (Dundalk Army Barracks) summon up from the gutter. Aherne was the ringleader of this Mobile Guard,typical of the sweepings of the gutter who appear on our streets in a political or military crisis.
