The report I received was that "Two or three people who I know went into a checkpoint outside Derry and never been seen again". That report was received from Jim Wray. I was asked for a "favour". I asked Wray to leave me alone in the sitting room of Raymond Smith's house and I would come up with something because I had had a very bad time in England and wasn't able to think properly. He left the room. I thought it over. Two minutes later he returned. I ordered thata known collaborator-it turned out that he was a civilian British Army driver-be coerced to drive a bomb into the checkpoint at Coshquin. To prevent escape by this collaborator and the British soldiers manning the checkpoint, I advised that we showed him a timer mechanism on top of the explosives whereas the actual radio-activated detonation mechanism was hidden under the explosives.
