Last Orders, August 1988. The killing of Buchanan and Fyffe
In England in 1987-88 I decided to have the two leading police culprits in the Loughgall ambush killed.
I settled on a scenario of 'predictive predictability' since it was the Garda informer, Martin Mc Manus, who provided the information to the police and British Army.
I reckoned-and I supplied newspaper photographs of Fyffe- that they would 'draw water from the well again' by going down across the border to be briefed by the Gardai.
In the documents which I handed over to Pat Doherty's interlocutor,I suggested throwing a curtain of IRA units around every country road in South Armagh and Dundalk since Fyffe and Buchanan were based in Armagh City which by simulation of IRA organisation, would entail that they worked closely with the Gardai in Dundalk..
Both were subsequently killed..
