The Gardai were responsible for the killings at Loughgall in association with "people who would do anything for a few poun'".

Britain's intelligence and police services were outwitted too in relation to the later British operations of the IRA by this simple tactic of deception and unparalleled stratagem which I referred to as the said police and MI 5 "putting their foot on rotten floorboards."

Other mechanisms of diversion from preplanned attacks in England 1990-1998

The first security 'lock' was the introduction by way of pathos to what I had in mind,a body-blow to Britain's standing as "a safe location to do business in" ,namely a bomb on a bicycle at Coventry's main Post Office in the 1939 style,reviving a hallowed wisdom that the so-called Southern Command would play a lead role after the Eksund arms shipment was betrayed. To have indulged ourselves with in involving Free Staters, would have been pure folly.

Another "lock" to the security mechanism was to build the bombs destined for English metropoli in different locations to conceal the pollen count in the wheels so as to evade detection and arrest. Using the same base would have brought the risk of locating the place of origin of the bombs. That eventuality could have been achieved by examining the pollen signature in the wheels or underbody of the vehicles deployed

The third "lock" was to approach the targets by an alternating series of routes such as the A1 and M1,the Great North Road,Stoke Newington High Street-Hoxton-Aldgate,East India Dock Road, Limehouse High Street and Commercial Road after exiting the M25...and so on,and so on...

I personally regret the bombing of Thatcher's financial sponsors but regard that tactic as having been the sole option at that time to bring about as few casualties as possible and bring the conflict to an indecisive if mutually satisfactory conclusion.

To maintain the strictest security,my instructions to Pat Doherty were for these operations to be conducted solely within England from a base a stone's throw from St Mary's Axe and Bishopsgate.

I recommended- to prevent casual banter exfiltrating from British support groups- to close down groups such as Sinn Fein Britain and that we distance ourselves from the Troops Out Movement. That group was top heavy with.informers and collaborators. I realised that they would be a hindrance not a help.

I specifically asked Doherty to introduce me to an electrician and the Security Unit. I wanted to personally brief him on the peculiar electrical construction of the bombs. I instructed Pat Doherty to use the Security Unit for the attacks and in the British Operations Handbook,I carefully mapped out the volunteers' respective and collective roles.

The result was the worst blow of casual destruction to the British economy imaginable. Only Thatcher exceeded my efforts in terms of economic body-blows to Britain and it's ordinary,decent, unsuspecting populace to whom I owe so much for a world class education but none as to intelligent erudition concerning the tolerance of Irish drunks,drug addicts and layabouts in their great and literate society.

One of the great fortitudes of talking a lot while doing very little is that it gives you room to breathe and space and time to take your foot off the pedal i.e. decelerate an armed confrontation and backtrack and cow your supporters into the acceptance of a compromise.

One of those bluffs in this sad chapter in relations between the English and the Irish was my tell-tale fingerprint....I am referring to what I had years previously referred to as a "differentiated approach",the variance of tactics to whet nationalist revanchist appetites for "successes" ,"however so small and publicise them widely" (Lenin,see my article on the revolutionary press in Issue No. 13-14 of Workers Republic, glasnosteire.blogspot.com).

And what titbit were we to publish,yellow press-style?

Why the bombard-type mortars deployed on my orders at Heathrow to cause fear,panic and alarm amongst the better-off English,thereby hampering holiday travel and leisure enjoyment.....

Or,as more desperate "clients" of mine at St. Mary's Axe would have put it,"We don't like to make a drama out of a crisis." Altogether,a superior if more precocious type of business as losses aggregated from lost sales of commercial insurance and bankruptcy of its British parent company forced the de-merger  of the Commercial Union's US real estate subsidiary.
